Gwynne Shotwell, the president and chief operating officer of SpaceX, has partnered with the charity auction site Charitybuzz.com to offer ten lucky people the opportunity to tour SpaceX's rocket and spacecraft factory in Hawthorne, California.
The lucky winner and their guests will get to see Falcon 9 rockets being assembled, Merlin engines being constructed, a Dragon spacecraft in production and even a Dragon that has returned from space. These tours are not available to the general public, making this an incredible opportunity that's not to be missed.
Bidding is open through June 19. Proceeds from the auction at Charitybuzz.com will benefit the Women in Technology Foundation, an organization that helps women advance by providing access to — and support from — other professional women working in all sectors of technology.
