Regency-Superior is proud to present an extensive auction of Space & Aviation autographs and memorabilia on Friday, January 28th at ORCOEXPO located at the Embassy Suites in Anaheim, California near Disneyland.

This sale has a large number of better early aviation autographs including: Manfred von Richthofen (the famed "Red Baron"), Ace of Aces in World War I who is credited with 80 "kills" during his service. Also of note is a handwritten & signed note by Count Ferdinand Graf Zeppelin, cut signature of Richard I. Bong (U.S. Ace of WWII), Howard Hughes, covers and cards signed by Amelia Earhart, Charles Lindbergh, Orville Wright and even a rare postcard signed by Wilbur Wright. We also have aviation equipment in the sale including a Mach Meter and an Air Speed Indicator from the SST CONCORDE simulator, Zeppelin Pieces and V1 & V2 rocket pieces.

The Autograph section includes a larger than normal group of Neil Armstrong signed white Space Suit lithographs as well as his signature on several other items. Most other astronauts from the American, Russian and Chinese programs are well represented. Also offered is a significant group of items from the mid-1990s of Buzz Aldrin's (and other Astronaut's) personal collections. There is a large dealer stock of cacheted Space covers commemorating hundreds of different flights and events from the 1950s through 2000s with some HUGE lots containing many thousands of items - even a collection of over 55,000 shuttle covers in one lot!

The Space stamp section is highlighted by the extremely rare (possibly unique) 2000 World Stamp Expo uncut press sheet with the central Space hologram omitted. In the literature area we have quite a few scarce manuals and other official publications of contractors, NASA and others.

Highlights include:

  • (Lot 178) 1969 Neil Armstrong Autographed Litho (white space suit)

  • (Lot 230) 1969 Original patches off Al Worden's Apollo 12 Close-Out Garment

  • (Lot 430) 1960s Gus Grissom Autographed Litho

  • (Lot 509) 1986 'Flight of Freedom 7' oil painting of Alan Shepard by Robert Peak

You can bid LIVE online at RegencySuperior.com. Or, attend the auction in person - Friday, January 28th at ORCOEXPO Stamp Show being held at the Embassy Suites-Anaheim South. Lots are available for viewing at our Beverly Hills gallery beginning Tuesday, January 25th through Thursday, January 27th.

For specific questions regarding this auction, please contact Alan Lipkin at alipkin@RegencySuperior.com or call toll-free 1-800-782-0066.

Good luck with your bidding!

What a difference a few weeks make. Maybe everyone spent all their money at the RR auction, but the prices today were much more down to earth (no pun intended).

Other than some high priced Armstrongs, most of the prices were very reasonable. I ended up with several lots all at about 1/2 the estimated value.

What great items sold and again for very reasonable prices (compared to the last auction).

I can't help but notice the price the Bill Anders signed lithos went for:

  • Lot 144 sold for $475 (Anders signed litho)
  • Lot 147 sold for $1200 (Apollo 8 crew signed litho)
Just a small problem, the Anders signatures are completely different on each litho.

Can anybody point out a reason for this?

(I am not the buyer or seller, just picked up on it.)

I believe he is well known for having different signature styles.

Thank you to Penny and Alan and all the folks at Regency.

I am now the proud owner of a Nelyubov signature. It is one of four that I have seen in all my years of collecting.

Now if someone has any of the other seven Cosmonauts from Group One who did not fly, please let me know as I would like to add them to the Nelyubov in my collection.

Thanks for your help.

I just wanted to say thank you to Regency Superior for taking care of a recent problem. I had purchased several items at their January auction and it turns out one signed by Gagarin was not authentic.

I returned it along with comments from several members of collectSPACE regarding the problems with it.

They refunded the money in full with no hassle. My thanks to Wayne and Alan, and I am looking forward to your next auction.
