Based on the final result and only one floor bid I would assume Armstrong's pants haven't been sold - but you'll see soon if they are in the internet sale next weekend.BTW Apollo 1 was well in the same price level the last Apollo 1 crewpics have been selling. Florian |

If there was a floor bid, doesn't it mean that the item is sold for that bid/price? Forgive me, this type of auction scene is completely new to me. |

There are several reasons why a "floor bid" may not be a winning bid. For example, there may be a reserve price set by the consignor that was not met. The software may have changed since I last watched it in action several years ago, but at that time "floor bids" were also entered to adjust the online "opening bid" to match the actual value decided on the auction floor during the live sale. |

I really wanted the Apollo 11 press room signs (#608.)What I got was the pics of the Apollo 1 review board (which goes with my growing collection of Apollo 1 items) and the Hazardous Evacuation Plan for Apollo 7... Both of those items were cheap - $30 each. |

I noticed the Jim Irwin WSS litho went for $1800. It's clear he has the rarest signed WSS of them all. |

According to Aurora's email I received today it's too early to say who won which items for sure, even if you have received eBay confirmation emails. Final winning confirmation should come in next week, once Aurora have checked if any bids slipped through the net due to the eBay server problems.Cheers, Matt ------------------ www.spaceracemuseum.com [Edited by Matt T (October 24, 2006).] |

I'm anxiously waiting to hear what the final results are. I placed bids on the first two Apollo 1 signed lithos (thanks to Ken, I didn't bid on the third one) It was understood if I didn't win the first one (my first choice) then my bid would carry over to the second one. I believe the winning bid on the second one was mine. I loved the litho with the signatures above the heads because of the clarity of the signatures but I have been searching and hoping for a chance to acquire an Apollo 1 signed crew photo for a long time. It would finish my collection of all pre shuttle crews. There was one bidder who bid against me on the first Apollo 1 and like so many of us have experienced, carried the bidding on the item up and up until I was eliminated from the bidding. I'm still very happy to acquire the second Apollo 1 signed litho. Like I said, I'm waiting anxuiously to hear the final results. I hope we hear before the internet bidding begins so we can tell if our funds are all depleted from the first auction. Dave |

Hi all,I got my invoice from aurora as well, and I won one lot of shuttle photos, but a second lot where my absentee bid and a floor bid tied, I didn't win. Does a floor bid win over an absentee bid? Geoff |

1100 FLOWN Shuttle Cable Support Plate Assy 1499 STS 91 Astronauts Signed Flown US Flag 1578 Flown Russian Krushka TXK-14 Parka 1708 Salyut-7 Flown Soviet Flag Autographed 1718 Soyuz TM-8/Mir Flown USSR Flag 1720 Soyuz TM-9/TM-11/Mir Flown Film Canister Lot 1708, from what I can tell, is really a Mir flown item (not Salyut-7 as indicated). It was aboard TM-2 (and Mir) with Romanenko and Laveykin.
Can anyone give insight to Lot 1578, the flown TXK-14 parka? I assume these were used in case of an emergency landing in cold weather territory.

I wonder if the order of the live bidding might explain this. For example, if you placed an absentee bid of $100 as your maximum and the bidding started at $70 with your bid as the first bid, the bidding may have gone as such: Your bid: $70 Floor bidder: $80 Your bid: $90 Floor bidder: $100 Assuming your maximum was $100, then the floor bidder wins because he was the "first" to bid $100 during the sequence of increasing bids. That's only a guess on my part...I might be wrong, however. |

here is a response I got from anither auction house where I placed an absentee bid which was the same as the price the item so forWhat likely happened is that we had an absentee bid equal to or higher than yours, and, with the ebay system, a left bid takes precedence because ebay executed bids at the time of the live auction, as if you were in the room. If a person left a bid on the books higher than your $120, that bid would be executed by us during the auction. Whereas your $120 would have been executed as your max bid, since you were not there to raise it. This is a glitch in ebay's system, and is something that they haven't worked out yet. !!!!!! |

I put an absentee bid in early and won a signed 6X8 Photo of Vladimir Dzhanibekov in his Sokol suit for $20. A steal as far as I am concerned. It will go nicely with his Sokol training Glove:] Paul |
