Hi,
I was interested to know how much the Apollo 16 Robbins Medallion went for at the ASF silent auction on Sunday in London.Anybody know? It was from the personal collection of Charlie Duke,
many thanks,
Nick.

I have no idea what it sold for but I assume it is an unflown medal since it doesn't specifically say it was flown . . .

Hi,
yes it was unflown but still surely scarce. When I lasted looked on Sunday afternoon it was £250. With so much being written about this series I had thought of starting a small collection but have no idea of reasonable prices.
Thanks,
Nick.

Thanks,
Nick.

I acquired that medallion for £250 and it is now sitting next to the fragments of Apollo 17 heatshield from Gene Cernan's collection, which I also won in the auction. Some of the lots seemed to go for very low prices which must surely have disappointed the ASF and I hope they are not put off by this and come back next time.

Charlie Duke confirmed to me that the medallion was unflown, and I too have no idea of its open market value.

Hi,
Great buy...I was going to bid but thought that it would too quickly go out of my league.
I had only been reading about them a few days earlier.Great purchase and even more so with its accompanying provenance.

I too noted that some of the items went quite reasonably but it does give the average collector a chance to own a great item without breaking the bank and at the same time supporting a great cause.
