Some bizarre prices, both up and down. - Ap 12 Ins. cover $700 - Ap12 litho $350 - Unusual Ap 11 ins cover only $1150 - Irwin's PPK only $3500 (hope it stays in one piece) <LOL> - oversized x-15 litho (was this the one advertised here?) $3000 - beautiful flown x-15 cover $2200Not sure if all of these met their reserves. I picked up a flown Soviet flag signed by 5 (incl Sharman) for only $135! As ever, a very slick show from Regency Superior. Paul Bramley |

Yup, I bid and got smoked-a-roonie! Covers went high. The $2200 for the flown X-15 is about par with previous ones. The Shepard USS Lake Champlain cover went for $2300 (about par) while the less-rare Grissom USS Randolph cover went for $2800! The MA4 USS Decatur cover went for $850 (high) and the July 20 Apollo 11 Insurance Cover went for a blistering ~$3200 (I'm writing all of these prices from memory from Saturday, so please be kind if I am a little off). The Gemini-MOL USS LaSalle cover that I bid upon ended up selling for $1800 (and no, not to me)!!! |

Anyone know if that Goodrich Mark IV pressure suit made it's reserve? If so someone got one hell of a bargain for $1,000.Cheers, Matt ------------------ www.spaceracemuseum.com |

Matt:Regarding the pressure suit, the winner seems to be.... me! I'm still a little shocked, and I won't quite believe it until it shows up at my door. As an aside, I phoned in a credit card number to pay for this, and was told by a very pleasant lady that it would ship within a day or two. I am still waiting on an item from another recent space auction. Assuming the pressure suit actually arrives soon, my choice about where to spend my auction dollars (at least from a customer service standpoint)will be obvious. BrianB |

Nice suit Brian, a steal at twice (maybe even thrice) the price. Welcome to the 'Now How The Hell Am I Going To Display This?' club. I have the Smithsonian's guidelines on the care and preservation of pressure suits if you'd like me to send you a copy? Or I could summarize - lay it flat, take off the gloves, boots and helmet, never touch it again. And absolutely never ever wear it. Spoilsports. Matt:Thanks. I would be grateful for a copy. One of my related collecting interests is flight gear, especially the high altitude stuff. I have a couple of other vintage pressure suits and a whole bunch of flight helmets, some of which are showing their age. Any info would be useful. brian@controlgrips.com BrianB |

The X-15 photo was mine. I posted it here (no one was interested) and put it on Astroauction (I think it only reached around $1,800). I would have loved to have sold it to a cS member, but as is the case a lot of the time, no one wants to pay a fair price...they want you to just "give" it to them. |

Received my lot today-- very fast delivery.Mine was a remainder lot from an Apollo cover collection. It featured an Apollo 14 recovery cover signed by Stu Roosa using an Apollo 14 insurance envelope. Bidding on the lot was kind of a gamble...I really hit the jackpot with this lot, however, because it also contained: 1) Apollo 12 recovery printed Captain's Cover (these are very scarce) 2) Jim Irwin unpersonalized autographed color business suit litho 3) John Young autographed Apollo 16 moonlanding cover 4) three Apollo 15 covers autographed by Jim Irwin 5) three covers autographed by Pete Conrad 6) Decade of Space Achievement FDC autographed by Mike Collins 7) Similar FDC autographed by Tom Stafford 8) Apollo 14 launch cover autographed by Stu Roosa 9) Many other covers from Apollo 10-17. Needless to say, I am a happy bidder. Thanks, Regency-Superior. David
