Russia and China sign memorandum on the creation of a lunar station

Dmitry Rogozin, General Director of Roscosmos State Corporation, and Zhang Kejian, Head of China National Space Administration (CNSA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the creation of the International Scientific Lunar Station (ILRS).

Roscosmos State Corporation and CNSA, guided by the principles of equal distribution of rights and obligations, will promote cooperation in the creation of an open access rocket system for all interested countries and international partners, with the goal of strengthening research cooperation and promoting the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes for interests of all mankind.

The International Scientific Lunar Station is a complex of experimental research facilities created on the surface and/or in the orbit of the moon, designed to carry out multidisciplinary and multipurpose research work, including the exploration and use of the moon, lunar observations, fundamental research experiments and technology verification with the possibility of long-term unmanned operation with the prospect of a human presence on the moon.

Within the framework of the project for the creation of the ILRS, Russia and China, using their experience in the field of space science, the creation and use of space technology and space technologies, will jointly develop a roadmap for the creation of the ILRS, as well as conduct close interaction in planning, justification, design, development, implementation, operation the project for the creation of the ILRS, including its presentation to the world space community.

Russia and China traditionally strive to develop cooperation in the field of space technologies, space science and the use of outer space. To date, within the framework of interaction in the field of lunar and deep space exploration, an agreement has been signed and is being successfully implemented between the Roscosmos State Corporation and the Chinese National Space Administration on cooperation within the framework of the coordination of the Russian mission with the orbital spacecraft Luna-Resurs-1 (Luna 27) and the Chinese mission of exploration of the polar region of the moon "Chang'e 7," as well as the Agreement between the State Corporation Roscosmos and the Chinese National Space Administration on cooperation in the creation of a joint data center for the exploration of the moon and deep space.

Venezuela joins the international lunar project together with China

A milestone in space research! This Monday (July 17), Venezuela and China signed a joint declaration to strengthen cooperation ties in lunar exploration. The Venezuelan delegation, headed by the sector vice president for Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, together with the president of the Bolivarian Agency for Space Activities (ABAE), Eng. Adolfo Godoy, has marked a new chapter in space research for the benefit of both countries.

A new stage in space research

According to the words of Vice President Gabriela Jiménez, "this signing of the joint declaration represents a new stage in the meeting between Venezuela and China in the field of space research. Venezuela is proud to be invited once again to promote aerospace development in the country, and all cooperation efforts should be directed at training talent and advancing knowledge of deep space. It is an opportunity to develop engineering, renew knowledge and promote satellite developments that will benefit the Republic."

Bilateral cooperation in lunar exploration

The signing of this joint declaration opens a door to a "change of era" in Venezuelan space research. Now, there is the possibility of participating in research projects at the International Lunar Research Station, which will be included in the National Science and Technology Plan. Venezuela ratifies its commitment to the peaceful use of outer space and reaffirms its brotherhood and solidarity with the Government of the People's Republic of China. Contributions of Venezuela to lunar exploration

China National Space Administration (CNSA) release
China, South Africa ink agreements on international lunar research program

Space agencies of China and South Africa have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation of the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS) program, according to the China National Space Administration (CNSA).

The MOU, marking South Africa's official participation in the ILRS program, was signed early in September by the Chinese Ambassador to South Africa Chen Xiaodong on behalf of the CNSA and Humbulani Mudau, head of the South African National Space Agency, the CNSA said in an announcement on its website.

South Africa's participation shows the cooperation between China and South Africa extends from near-Earth space to the moon and deep space exploration, which will contribute to the space science and technology advancement between the two countries, said the announcement.

The two sides will carry out extensive cooperation in the demonstration, engineering implementation, operation and application, education and training of the ILRS.

In addition, under the framework of the BRICS cooperation on remote sensing satellite constellation, the two space agencies have cooperated on remote sensing data exchange and application, and satellite ground stations.

The National Space Administration and the Pakistan Space and Exoatmospheric Research Council signed a memorandum of cooperation in the aerospace field

Witnessed by Prime Minister Li Qiang and Prime Minister Kakkar of Pakistan, Zhang Kejian and Pakistani Ambassador to China Moin Haq signed the "Memorandum of Understanding between China National Space Administration and Pakistan Space and Exoatmospheric Research Council on International Lunar Research Station Cooperation", marking the Pakistan has officially joined the international lunar scientific research station program.

Azerbaijan joins international lunar research station program

China, Egyptian Space Agency signed agreements on cooperation in space

On December 6, 2023, Director Zhang Kejian of the China National Space Administration and Director Sharif Sedji of the Egyptian Space Agency signed the "Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on Space Cooperation and the Peaceful Use of Outer Space" in Beijing and "Cooperation Agreement between the China National Space Administration and the Egyptian Space Agency on the International Lunar Research Station."

According to the cooperation document, the two parties encourage joint research and development cooperation in the fields of lunar and deep space exploration, spacecraft development and launch, aerospace infrastructure construction, satellite data reception and application, BRICS remote sensing satellite constellation, space science and astronomical observation, etc. Cooperation will be carried out in joint demonstration and research of international lunar scientific research stations, space missions, space systems and subsystems, space equipment, ground segments and applications, education training and capacity building.

China and Egypt have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in the aerospace field. The Egypt-aided Satellite Assembly and Integration Test Center completed acceptance in June. The Egypt-aided Satellite 2 completed assembly and testing at the center and was successfully launched on December 4. The signing of a cooperation document in the aerospace field between China and Egypt will point out the direction for future aerospace cooperation between China and Egypt, and is of great significance for promoting the progress of China-Egypt aerospace science and technology and developing a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
