Progress M-22M launches to space station

Russia's Progress M-22M resupply craft launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Wednesday (Feb. 5) at 10:23 a.m. CST (1623 GMT, 10:23 p.m. Baikonur time) on a four-orbit, six-hour flight to the International Space Station.

The Progress is the 54th Russian unmanned craft to bring supplies to the ISS.

The cargo craft is scheduled to dock with the station's Pirs module at 4:25 p.m. CST (2225 GMT). It is loaded with 1,764 pounds (800 kg) of propellant, 110 pounds (50 kg) of oxygen, 926 pounds (420 kg) of water and 2,897 (1,314 kg) pounds of spare parts, experiment hardware and other supplies for the orbiting complex.

Progress M-22M docks to space station

The Progress M-22M supply ship docked with the International Space Station's Pirs module on Wednesday (Feb. 5) at 4:22 p.m. CST (2222 GMT).

The unmanned craft delivered 1,764 pounds (800 kg) of propellant, 110 pounds (50 kg) of oxygen, 926 pounds (420 kg) of water and 2,897 (1,314 kg) pounds of spare parts, experiment hardware and other supplies for the orbiting complex.

At the time of docking Progress M-22M and the station were flying 261 miles (420 kilometers) over the Atlantic Ocean east of Florida and northeast of the Caribbean islands.

Progress M-22M undocks from space station

Russia's Progress M-22M (ISS Progress 54) cargo ship departed the Pirs docking compartment Monday (April 7), undocking from the International Space Station to move to a safe distance away for a series of engineering tests by Russian flight controllers.

The departure of this resupply vehicle cleared Pirs for the arrival of a new Progress (M-23M) on Wednesday (April 9) that will carry almost three tons of supplies for the six-man Expedition 39 crew.

Progress M-22M is scheduled to be deorbited on April 18 to burn up in the Earth's atmosphere.
