During the flight of STS-114, Andy Thomas read a poem during the STS-107 tribute that began, "Not twice may any stand by the same stream/Not twice possess the years that hasten on;/Something there was we looked on, love, ‘tis gone/Or stays but as the shadow of a dream."I can find no record of an author of the poem anywhere online. Was it composed especially for the tribute, and if so, by whom? |

For the record, the poem was written by Sir Hubert Wilkins, an Australian polar explorer. I can't imagine why Andy Thomas of all people would read something written by a guy from Australia... |

I'm not sure of the poem but your post made me think of this again. Extremely profound and sad, but articulate. It is Dave Brown's last email home on STS-107. | |
