Looking for something else I stumbled across US Patent 5,064,151 which relates to a 12th November 1991 proposed rescue pod for the infant Freedom Space Station and the ISS.It refers to Moses and Scram. Does anyone know anything more about these? |

MOSES is described here. While SCRAM might be a reference to this: Schedule and Cost Risk Analysis Modeling (SCRAM) System, found here. |

I have to admit to only skimming through the patent and it's not the version kindly linked by Robert in my original post, but my reading of it is that SCRAM was to be a recovery vehicle. |

Per Wikipedia summary: The Station Crew Return Alternative Module (SCRAM) was a capsule which could hold up to six astronauts. Reentry heat protection was provided by the use of a heat shield designed for the NASA Viking Mars probe. Costing US$600 million, the primary drawback to this design was high g-loadings on landing, which were not ideal in case of a medically necessitated evacuation. |

I have to say after reading all of this, I'm voting with the HL-10 group. |
