Has anyone noticed that STS-136 Atlantis has successfully launched yesterday to an emergency mission to the ISS?At least it did so on the German space forum Raumfahrer.net. They started a thread covering the countdown and launch, and even broadcast it live on their webcast spacelivecast.de. You can watch the recorded webcast of STS-136 here (German language knowledge is useful...) |

Hmm... Wonder what Lockheed-Martin has to say about their star logo incorporated into the 'STS-136' mission patch. Nice choice of astronaut crew, although all would have had to stay around to serve a second time as a 'standby/emergency' rescue crew. Reminds me of role-playing games. |

The patch is the STS-127 patch Jorge and I designed along with Tom Marshburn. The "star" is from the JAXA logo for the Kibo front porch carried aboard Endeavour on that flight. By the way, Hurley was the PLT on that flight too. |

The crew is the same one as the last real shuttle flight, Ferguson, Hurley, Walheim, Magnus...
