I was wondering if International Space Station (ISS) crew members are allowed to enter the space shuttle when attached to the station. Are only ISS astronauts with previous shuttle experience allowed to do that or can every ISS resident enter the shuttle?

Every person who flies to the ISS, regardless of nation or role (visiting, resident or spaceflight participant) receives (at least) a basic familiarization with space shuttle systems during their training at Johnson Space Center.

As such any member of the ISS crew can enter the shuttle while it is at the station.

For example, here is Expedition 21 flight engineer Roman Romanenko sitting in the commander's seat aboard Atlantis.

Likewise, here is Expedition 18 commander Mike Fincke, whose first shuttle flight is not until later this year, aboard Endeavour's middeck.

Also, on this flight, T.J. Creamer was to take pictures of one of the ISS solar arrays from the mid-deck side hatch window of Endeavour.

I think you are referring to this photo which shows TJ in the commander's seat on the flight deck of Endeavour.

If I was up there and wasn't restricted, you would look around a while for me and eventually find me in the commander's seat also. I'd toss a camera and say "take my picture!"

Just be ready for that Lovell-type "What did you DO?" look from somebody if something goes wrong while you are posing in that commander's seat!
