When astronaut Peggy Whitson became NASA's first Science Officer during her first tour of duty aboard the International Space Station in 2002, Star Trek artist Mike Okuda thought it was only natural to give her a pair of pointy ears and from there a series of re-touched ISS crew member photos began.

(And of course, astronauts have jointed Starfleet, too.)

We did a little of that here at the Museum recently too! Our "crew" was Armstrong, Bean, Cernan and Cunningham.

All times are CT (US)
