If any other collectSPACE members fancy meeting up in the Cocoa/KSC area between the STS-125 launch and landing, do email me and we can meet up for a chat/beer etc. Look forward to meeting you.

Our press credentials arrived this week and we will be arriving in Brevard County on the 9th.

Would also like to meet up. Durangos Steakhouse the evening of the launch? I think that's Titusville.

Joel and I will be down as well. We could meet up with you for an after launch dinner. Sounds good.

Sounds like a good plan. What time?

And Eamonn, when did you initially apply for your press pass? I may well see you at the press site in that case.

Meeting up after the launch sounds good. Hope to meet up at the press site. We will be as near to the clock as we can get.

If Durangos is okay, am not sure of what time, James you would know best!

Andy, Siobhan and I applied for a press pass at the beginning of January and only heard last week, thankfully we got them finally.

Looking forward to meeting up.

7:30 pm? That would give enough time for us to pick up remotes, get showered, and have much of the traffic cleared.

Okay, I will have to find the place but hope to be there.

I'm arriving with Rick into Orlando on the 10th arriving 14:20 local time.

I am told my press pass in in the pipeline so looking forward to seeing the launch now. Hoping to get the landing too which will be nice.

All set now, so if you guys have to be there at 7:00 am I'm not sure yet what time I will need to be at the press site, still waiting on the details.

Will we have time to get out after launch (if it goes) and get to the restaurant? We are staying in Cocoa, so not sure if we will make it back for a shower or not but we will certainly try to be there. Looking forward to it.

Traffic should be clear by 7-7:30 pm. Usually takes about 3 or so hours.

It may well be that we have to go direct to the restaurant as I don't see us having time to get back to Cocoa then back to the restaurant for 7:30pm. It's about 15 miles from our hotel.

Would 8pm suit you better Andy, with the I-95, or US 1, or A1A travelling in Brevard is very easy and fast, 15-20 miles can be easier then expected.

James, would 8pm be a more suitable time?

Again safe journey Andy, James and everyone travelling for the launch.

8 works for me. Eamonn, if you are still wanting to go out with me for remotes, be at the press site at 7 am Sunday morning. Bring mosquito spray if you have it.

I'll do the best I can to meet in T-ville as I may have additional plans to be in the T-ville area a few hours after launch. Once again for finalization, what time is it and where do we meet?

Also, how about cS-press members meeting on launch day on the grounds of Press Site 39? Anyone with a place and time? My best schedule is before liftoff as I am usually leaving the press site within 20 minutes or so once the orbiter has reached orbit.

As much as I'd like to join you guys for dinner, I need to fly back to Houston after the launch so that I can be at JSC for the first set of briefings the next morning.

If you do have a press badge, as some of you already know, collectSPACE has had workstation #15 in the KSC Media Center assigned to us since STS-114 in 2005. You can usually find me there between briefings and other press events beginning at (at least) L-2 days.

Sorry we will miss you Robert, hopefully we will see you launch day.

8pm for Dinner sounds great, that way Rick and I can get back to the hotel and shower and change before heading out again. Look forward to seeing you all there. How we gonna know who each other is??

I would have liked to have gone out and seen how they set up the remote cameras. A friend of mine, Mike Hahn has done that in the past but I don't thing he got to do it this time round.

Rick, you're in the left seat so that makes you captain I guess? Well until I drive that is!

We will be the only people there with Irish accents.

Don't think we will have press badges on time to attend remote cameras James but as soon as we get into our hotel in Melbourne we will ring your hotel James and leave you our contact numbers, etc.

Maybe we can all agree to meet up in and around the cS workstation on launch day for a photo. Depending on everyone's schedule of course.

Wonder what the numbers will be like at the press site?

See you all very soon.

To boldly go...

The new Star Trek movie will be playing at KSCVC's IMAX theatre from May 7 to 24, three times daily at 4:30, 7:00 & 9:30.

Go to the KSC site to purchase tickets online. Annual pass holders (Commander's Club) can attend the 4:30 matinee screenings for just $7.50+tax but you need to call KSC at 321-449-4400 to get your confirmation number in order to pick up your ticket at the ticket plaza.

I'll be going to the 4:30 showing after the launch next Monday. If you'd like to attend the movie on launch day annual pass holders need to call KSC ASAP as the shows on launch day will most likely sell out. Otherwise you can purchase tickets online at $12+tax each.

Live long and prosper!
