I am reading TA Heppenheimers' "A History of Space Flight" and he makes mention of some commercial experiments that where suggested by private enterprise for Shuttle. One that grabbed my interest was one by Bethlehem Steel who wanted to study the way Molten Iron solidified in Micro Gravity. Has anyone any idea if it was done and or where I might find out about it. I work in the Steel industry and find the idea intriguing.

If it flew, it was probably in a "Glovebox" type of experiment and before Bethlehem Steel went out of business, so you'll have to look at which shuttle flights flew micro-g/Glovebox experiments before then. Just a guess, here.

Chris.
