The US National Aeronautics and Space Admin. (NASA) has announce that it is forming an investigative board, following an incident that damaged the manipulator arm on the Space Shuttle Discovery. ...and yesterday there was a 'small' fire in the VAB where two fully fueled shuttle solid rocket boosters were stacked. KSC Director Jim Kennedy stopped work on NASA's three-orbiter shuttle fleet and International Space Station (ISS) components halting shuttle launch preparation at the Kennedy Space Center. more here How are we going to make it to Mars if we can't even get to the launch pad?

Just to keep our dates straight, the arm damage occurred on March 4 and the fire took place last week, as was the two-hour safety stop-work order at KSC. | |
