This seems to be good news. I don't interpret this as the end of the Space Shuttle. As the articles implies, this merely facilitates a continuation of what has been taking place in the last three years.In the long run, it may reduce the number of Shuttle flights, so that the Shuttle is only used to fly up the larger components of the ISS for construction. I'm somewhat hopeful that this may even free up the Shuttle schedule to a point where a Hubble servicing mission can take still take place. | |
