The 'space age' has seen several new words and phrases enter our language that are associated with space flight. Among the less well known are these from Apollo 9.
All vanilla - used by the crew to describe the fact that everything was proceeding as normal. It's worth noting here that the astronauts rarely used 'A-OK'. This was attributed to Shorty Powers and is perhaps better known.
Astrokin - used for the first time by the press corps to describe the families and children of the astronauts.
