Recently, I had given up my search to find evidence of an M-35 series military truck in NASA use... How odd that, just a few hours after saying to myself that I was giving up the search, I finally found documentation of one being used!I got the DVD on Apollo 10 from Netflix. A sequence showing the LM being hauled in a trailer into KSC, clearly shows an M-35, painted white with NASA insignia on the door, following. It had an odd cover in the back, I'm going to have to research that. I could only get photos from the screen so it's not the best quality, but I now know for sure that NASA did indeed have white-painted M-35s! I was looking for such a truck because I have a line on a former military M-35A2 truck which has a decent price. My primary hobby is military stuff and I have a WW2 Jeep in my garage. I'll never be able to afford an M-113 to convert to a NASA emergency vehicle copy, and I was badly hoping to find support for white-painted 2 1/2 ton trucks in NASA use. Now I have, but I don't have nearly the detail I would need. Does anyone by chance have a more detailed photo of this truck or one like it? I'd need a good shot of the door markings as well as the front bumpers as they often put markings there as well... | |
