Space shuttle astronaut Gregory Chamitoff visited the set of the just-opened movie "Star Trek Into Darkness" while they were filming. Chamitoff sat in the captain's chair on the bridge and showed a replica phaser he carried on board the last flight of space shuttle Endeavour in 2011.
He appeared on the History Channel documentary, 'Star Trek: Secrets of the Universe,' which shows the predictions the original series and movies made about astronomy and space travel. They also show extensive behind-the-scenes shots of the new movie.
Chamitoff appears at the 33-minute mark. The program will be repeated this Wednesday, May 22, at 9 pm ET on H2, History's sister channel.

Just saw Dr. Chamitoff's segment, and I have a question. How did the phaser get on board Endeavour? It's not listed on the mission's OFK manifest. His PPK?
