I don't know if any of you caught this but during the BCS Championship game last night they ran a promo for LSU showing off some of their alums. They featured Shaquille O'Neal, a rock star (didn't catch the name), and then up popped an image of Max Faget standing in front of a Mercury spacecraft drawing. It was awesome.

I also saw this advertisement.

I was born and raised in Carville, LA. Max's dad was the M.O.C. at the Hanson Medical Center where my father was employed and we lived on the base. I learned to fly control line stunt and speed, free flight and gliders with Max in the background. We were buying kits while Max and Guy were designing their own airplanes.

Had been thinking of the Faget's since we are planning a reunion of the "Carville" kids in the spring of 2013. Gosh we had a great childhood there.

All times are CT (US)
