Very nice! A lot of history started there.

I fly a Learjet 45 for a living; we were passing over on the way to points south.

Beautiful, looks like a nice day for flying. Question - do you need special clearance to get that close?

Thank you.

Your reflection in the window makes it look like the pad on the left is out in the water.

No; restricted airspace is only in effect during launch activities. Even then you'd be surprised how close you can get, as most of the restricted airspace is over the ocean. It hasn't happened to me, but from what I've been told if the timing is right you can get the best view on the planet.

Delta 7, nice shots... I try to get those occasionally on the way down too. I usually point KSC out to my pax as we go by.

In my opinion, kind of sad to see a brand new launch tower parked out in back of the VAB that will probably never be used.

That 45 wouldn't happen to be a Flex aircraft would it? I'm with QS on the 400XP.

Delta Private Jets (aka Delta AirElite). Privately owned and managed by them.

Isn't it that way with NASA, they build things, like the LMs and CSMs now in the museums, and are not allowed to use them. Then we get to hear that NASA wastes money.

How I'd love to be able to casually state: "I fly a Learjet 45 for a living"!

Great photos.

Awesome! Some buddies of mine have been lucky enough to fly the crews and their families back and forth between EFD and the SLF during the shuttle flights.

I asked NASA Tower for the "shuttle tour" when I was down there years ago and they vectored me onto a left base for Rwy 33. We turned final, flew by the VAB, and did a pass down the runway at 500 feet.

If I get the photos I took scanned I'll post them here.
