A&E's new series "What's It Worth" has comedian and collector Jeff Foxworthy scouring the country (virtually) in search of "hidden treasures held by everyday people who are hoping to strike it big."

The sixth episode, premiering tonight (Aug. 18), includes a vest supposedly worn by Eric Clapton on stage and...

...soda that has been to space.
The episode, "Vested Interest," airs at 9:30pm EDT/8:30pm CDT.

On the bookshelf behind him, on the bottom shelf in his collection room, Jeff has on display what appears to be a shuttle-flown US flag presentation piece.

The premiere season episodes 5 and 6 air tonight at 9:00 and 9:30 EDT.

From an interview with Jeff Foxworthy with TV Insider:
You have some NASA memorabilia, right?

One guy on the show was fascinated with astronauts taking Cokes and Pepsis into space, so he collected the containers. While I was talking to him, I went, "Oh, I have something from outer space!" One of my [comedy] CDs went up on a space shuttle. NASA framed it and presented it to me. The appraisers were like, "Hell, I don't even know how to value that!"

Cool appearance on episode six there Robert. Your presentation of the "Cola Wars in Space" items was fun and informative. Would encourage anyone interested to watch a rebroadcast on A&E.

It was fun filming for the show and I enjoyed having a brief opportunity between scenes to chat with Jeff about his own piece of space memorabilia (described above).

I saw the flown USA Flag and CD presentation in the background during an earlier episode, but they never did a closeup so I couldn't figure out which mission it was from...

After looking up some launch photos (it appears to be dark clouds) and on-orbit crew photos, it appears to be STS-78.

During a break between filming my Coca-Cola and Pepsi cans, Jeff got the flown flag and CD presentation off the shelf and brought it closer to the camera for me to see. He said that when he received it, it was a complete surprise: he was attending a charity event and STS-78 mission specialist Chuck Brady came out and revealed that one of Jeff's concert CDs had flown aboard the shuttle. Jeff had no prior knowledge that it was taken into orbit.

It makes for a great "easter egg" on the set of "What's it Worth?" and it was clear from how Jeff described it, that it means a lot to him.
