Whether you celebrate this holiday, I hope averyone here at cS enjoys time with their loved ones.

Now if you want have a "Space Thanksgiving" meal here's the menu:

  • Canned Turkey
  • SPAM
  • Instant mashed potatos
  • canned cranberry sauce and your favorite vegetable(s)
  • flat bread or tortillia shells
  • instant pumpkin pudding
To prepare: add water to the freeze dried stuff and warm servings in a toaster oven. Enjoy!

You're missing the key space ingredient: hot sauce. Drown all of the above in said sauce, and enjoy.

Happy Turkey Day.

May the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday extend to those around the world...

Every year I am thankful to have lived in a time that has seen mankind venture forth from our world into the vast frontier of the cosmos...

What a glorious time to have been alive...

Some of the most astounding firsts in the history of mankind... demonstrative of what humans can accomplish when the right combinations of motivation and resources line up...

To think of the idea of the daily impact space has upon our lives, and the inevitable progression into space in the near and distant future, makes me realize just how thankful I am to have witnessed this era in human exploration.

It is no wonder that this community exists to explore, to hold, to own - a little piece, in whatever fashion, of this glorious adventure... out among the stars...

For those of you who were watching the Titans destroy the Lions (WOO!) during the first of the annual Thanksgiving NFL games today, you might have seen Garrett Reisman pop up in a most unexpected place. CBS ran a video montage of family photos submitted by their crew, as a dedication to the families they are often away from. Apparently, Richard Bracco of NEP Engineering had Reisman carry a photo of Bracco and, presumably, his wife on the ISS.

Check out the screen shot:

Neat. My future in-laws, however, think I'm nuts for swiftly grabbing the DVR remote to pause the playback, and carefully framing the shot using a webcam. Not that they don't have other reasons to think that I'm nuts.

All times are CT (US)
