Karl Malden passed away today at the age of 97 at his home in Brentwood, California. The Acadamy Award winning actor portrayed NASA Administrator Harry Sherwood in the 1979 Science Fiction thriller 'Meteor'. During his long career, Mr. Malden was probably best known for his role as Det. Mike Stone in the television series 'The Streets of San Francisco'.

And let us not forget him as a U.S. Air Force Master Sargent "Brennan" with Efram Zimblist Jr. as his C.O. and Natalie Wood as Malden's daughter in "Bombers B-52".

Fly high, sir...

With so many celebrities passing recently I thought about Malden just a couple of days ago. And now it has happened. What a great actor he was, a true dedicated man to his profession.

His roles in 'On The Waterfront' and 'A Streetcar Named Desire' are absolutely classic. I wonder what he, Brando and Kazan are talking about right now.

My thoughts are with the family and the many friends of this genuine Hollywood movie star.

He truly was not only a great actor, but a great man also and he was kind enough to send me an autographed picture just a few months back.

Rest in Peace Mr. Malden!

Malden also served as a Corporal in the 8th Air Force during WWII.

In my heart, I'll never leave home without him. Rest in peace, Mr. Malden. You were always a class act.

I'll always remember him for his role as Gen. Omar Bradley in Patton, which is one of my favorite all-time movies.
