I just got this e-mail from NASA Education. If there was ever a forum on which there might be people interested in applying, this is it. Any history PhDs want to take a shot? Know any you can copy and paste this to? Applications are due in only two weeks!

NASA and the American Historical Association will fund one fellow, for one academic year, to undertake a research project related to aerospace history. Applicants must possess a doctorate in history or in a closely related field, or be enrolled as a student in a program that grants doctoral degrees. A stipend of up to $20,000 will be awarded. Applications and letters of recommendation must be postmarked by March 1, 2008.

Fellowship in the History of Space Technology

NASA and the Society for the History of Technology will fund one fellow for up to one academic year to do a research project related to the history of space technology. Applicants must possess a doctorate in history of technology or a closely related field, or be enrolled as a student in a doctoral degree program and have completed all requirements for the Ph.D., except the dissertation, in history of technology or a related field. The stipend is $17,000. Applications are due March 1, 2008.

Fellowship in the History of Space Science

NASA and the History of Science Society will fund a nine-month research project related to any aspect of the history of space science, from the earliest human interest in space to the present. The fellowship is open to applicants who hold a doctoral degree in history or a closely related field, or students who have completed all requirements for the Ph.D., except the dissertation, in history of science or a related field. The stipend is $17,000. Applications are due March 3, 2008.
