I wanted a little bit of a different angle though and I put my aviation things up front. Rest assured though, as you drill down Space accounts for at 2/3 of the content. I left out flown things because I really don’t have anything unique that a couple of hundred of you don’t already have. However, I do have an autographed picture of Bob Titus blasting off the back of a flatbed truck in rocket assisted jet plane!

If there is anything I am particularly proud of though it would be the books. One of my pride and joys is, “The Lonely Sky,” by Bill Bridgeman. Try and find an example of his autograph anywhere. (I would honestly be curious to know who else has the same-signed book.) Again the collection is relatively modest, there are no Apollo 11 Crew signed pieces here, but there is a placeholder there until I do get one! The content is current with several of the pieces just being added in the last week, plus one item is currently out in the mail awaiting another signature.

I have updated my website today with some pictures of those planes and a little bit of information. I spent most of the day just digging up information on those three programs. Some of the information I found was contradictory in nature. One specific instance was the name of an engineer on the Tacit Blue program. One source had the name as Fred Oshira. Another site had the spelling more on the Irish side!

In any event, I sort of rushed some brief info together, and invite people to take a look and forward me any corrections that they see.

I also added a little info on the Blackbirds at the bottom of the page, since they were black projects at one time too.

Great Black project items, Doug, but where's Aurora ? If these things were flying in the last 15-12yrs, Lord knows what is being tested now.

Very sad. Pete was a top-notch guy and a gentleman. He like, all the other people of his generation, had a divine sense of graciousness which is sadly getting harder to find in today's culture.

It was just sort of thrown together quickly in the beginning, with organization coming thereafter. I put Aerospace projects in the foreground while sublimating the Space program. Though in reality, there is much more space stuff than aerospace stuff buried down inside.

The most important thing I got out of it was some sort of discipline in my collection. I now focus on the topics or items I need to complete, rather than just getting a little bit of everything or getting too many duplicates.

The second biggest benefit, is it has allowed me to view some of my collection anytime and anywhere I want, while everything is tucked away safely.

Those two points are the best benefits I can pass onto anyone who ever considered doing something like this themselves.

Here a few of the other things I have added throughout the year. (Not to mention the ongoing growth of test pilot signed photos.)

• X-43a cover flown aboard the B-52 Mothership during its third and final record breaking flight
  
• Harrison Schmitt signed book
  
• An autographed copy of "Wildcats to Tomcats the Tailhook Navy"
  
• Rare Tony Levier and very rare Milt Thompson signed books
  
• My copy of Alan Bean's Reaching for the Stars with additional signatures

My next goal is a John Young SP WSS Litho in a few months. Thank you for putting up with me. Now, I just wish I had more storage space on my free Earthlink website!

I replaced my stock WSS picture of Jim McDivitt with a unique older B&W image of him in front of an F-104 Starfighter. You can sort of make out an old truck in the background that looks out of place next to the F-104.

I also acquired a couple of flown items from the X-43A program courtesy of Tony Landis. There are two flown covers and a flown flag. I understand, per Tony, that there were 20 of the Mach 7 covers flown and 50 of the Mach 10 covers. Tony thinks that there were about 24 of the flags flown.

I have another flown Mach 10 cover from another source I picked up on base at Edwards. That cover was labeled #24 of 50.

Now I am curious if there were a couple of sets of 50 covers flown on the Mach 10 mission, or there are just a few different designs made up from that single set of 50?

In any event they are pretty cool.

Now, I just have one project left for my website outstanding. I had Joe Kerwin sign my Reaching for the Stars print last Summer at Spacefest. I need to update my site with that some day. Joe's sig completed Skylab for this print. Well, one thing at a time I guess.

You are responsible for so much of this collection. Between Valusign, Relics and your help at the UACC show in DC a few years back, much of this has been your work.

On a side note I was at a small aviation shop wheeling and dealing for the Thompson and Rushworth signed photos a few years back. The shopowner pulled out a copy Relics 1st edition and told me what a great book it is as he opened it up to the X-15 page for reference. Wow, I had never seen a 1st edition before or since. Black cover I recall.
