Yesterday on british television there was a program giving the fifty majoy events that shook the work fro mthe last fifty years. The Challeneger Disaster and the first docking with the space station mir by the STS 71 crew. To me it seems sad though that the columbia disaster was not part of the list and that some trivial sporting events were put ahead of it. But they were not my choices. Also i found it quite funny that Shannon Lucid apears to have replaced Charlie Precourt as pilot of Atlantis. Well according to the show anyway. It said under here caption pilot of the atlantis. Oh Well. What did everyone else think.

Considering the events that made it to the voting list online, I'm impressed that the moonlandings made it to number two.

Sure they are an important part of my world (even though I wasn't born in '69) but to many people it hasn't made any difference.
For it to be voted so high must show how much impact it had on them at the time.

I know that 9/11 came first, but I was surprised that the assasination of JFK and the images from Ethiopia came behind the moonlandings.

A good cheap bit of television though !

Hi Guys,
Considering this was to celebrate 50 years of ITV,and Trever Mc.Donald has been doing the news and major events for ages now.
The best part on my mind- is BUZZ ALDRIN-appearing on British Tv,talking about the Moon landings.Great this got to no.2,just think-some of us next month will be able to meet the guy in person.-Buzz-think this deserves a mention to him? After all-the whole programme was to fill in. But very enjoyable, and the winning shot- thousands of people from all over the world-did work in the twin towers,in N.Y.
And I thought this was a nice gesture to all those that lost their lives, but think the sunami-should have come higher.
Great pics and events-not to have missed?
Cheers friends, see some of you next moth, Gareth-how about coming to Autografica? with
Blackarrow.See you both.
from Brenda.
