Hello all - I was hoping for some guidance regarding the Jersey Shore. While in the area for the UACC show I'd like to take my two young daughters down to 'the shore' for a day. My daughters are ages 5 and 3, and I'd like to take them somewhere that has a nice beach and a classic boardwalk feel (you know - arcades, sno-cones, etc.). Ocean City is an option, but that would be quite a bit of driving - are there any places that fit the description say around Monmouth County or northern Ocean County? Others have suggested Sea Girt, Manasquan, and Spring Lake. Any thoughts on those areas? I used to travel NJ quite a bit for business so I'm quite a familiar with most places that might be suggested. The problem is that while traveling for my company I never made it to the beach! Thanks! Jonathan |

Try Point Pleasant Beach, it's a great place to take the family, the Boardwalk is alot of fun and there are rides for the little kids and the older kids. It has the arcades and the stands to win prizes. Whenever I go back I always take my kids there, best time to go is the late afternoon and then stay till it gets dark, there's nothing like being on the Boardwalk at night, between the rides, the excitement, and the sound of the waves crashing onto the beach, your kids will never forget the experience. |

Asbury Park. Look for the Stone Pony where Bruce Srpingsteen used to play all the time, and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. My wife is from Freehold (Bruce's hometown) and we've been to Asbury Park a bunch of times. Al | |
