What are you keeping (or planning to) from NASA's latest Return To Flight mission? What do you think will be the hot collectible(s) from this mission? (The two lists might be different.)

1)Self-compiled good picture album on CD with Flight Data File documents & Press Kit 2)Pendant of the mission emblem would be nice !!
3)A signed pic from Eileen Collins "From one Collins to another" would be awesome as I'm a Collins This may happen if she visits Colorado.

I think most will go for patches, t-shirts, mugs, pictures, coins, and the Return to Flight wristband. A few will get a real signed crew pic - Hot because of relative rarity. Robbins Medallions will be sky high (as usual)!
(Robert, I hope you can get the crew to sign your Who's Who blank pages!!)

Thanks! As it happens through past missions and encounters, all but two have already signed (missing are Kelly and Camarda).

I really like your "Collins to Collins" idea. I hope that happens for you!

I liked the Collins to Collins Kyra - any thoughts of trying for "From Collins and Collins to Collins?" :-)

Thank you for the inspiration ! Good idea here Al. TRS are you also a Collins ? If so, I have a very unique "spacey" signature

As an addition, it may sound silly but the best thing to collect for this flight are the memories of getting back up there ! What things we collect just refreshes our memories !! Do something memorable while the mission is up there, and you will never forget it ! Take an afternoon off and have a launch party with a friend. Bungee jump. Get a telescope to spot the ISS/Shuttle combo. You get the idea. That way your treasures from the flight will rekindle the memories for a lifetime. I got my first car during STS-34, for example. The car died a few years ago, but the signed crew pic not only reminds me of zipping down the road past fields of pumpkins listening to "Bohemian Rhapsody/Galileo" and listening to daily reports of the five up there at the time !

Whatever you collect for this mission make it count in your life, too ! Even more important for this generation that only recalls the Shuttle - Mir - and ISS as a living memory.

Hi all

I'd love to get a signed photo of the crew, or of Eileen Collins - while I have the address does anyone have any suggestions on what to write in and say?

All the best

I'll be collecting whatever my brother may bring me back from the launch I also have a large postcard-size crew pic that the NSS sent me stuck to my cubicle at work.

Eilis-

Just be yourself. If you come off as just an autograph collector, then you're sure to receive an autopen litho.

Write to them care of the Johnson Space Center, Mail Code: CB in Houston and tell them why you're interested in their mission or wish them well.

The more personal the letter, the more chance you'll receive a reply.

Good Luck!

Tim

I've got my brother on VHS tape alert.....I still have to deliver the blanks to him, but hoping for some great CNN coverage.

My sister has NASA TV, so may put her on duty too.

The only item I consistently collect is the 'Shuttle Crew Emblem Collection Series' bronze coin minted there in Titusville.
I have a few different things from other launches like shirts, mugs, etc., but the coin is my favorite and the STS-114 coin will be #8!
It'll be just me going and I'll be shooting video of the launch. I usually get a nearby stranger to take a few photos either with my camera or their's and then we sometimes swap pix/video later.

Hi Tim

Although I collect autographs I'm very much enamoured with spaceflight (-: Eileen Collins is amazing, and I am not the most verbose of people when in face of people I admire - even via the written word. But thanks for the advice, and I'll be composing my letter off real soon!

All the best

Well so far I've gotten several crew photos including the first issue, all individual portrait lithos, two autopenned lithos, 3 patches including first issue before the changes, the mission patch decal, some 114 payload patches, 2 shirts, 1 RTF hat, I've printed the press kit, and will order the lift-off magazine..
