I was watching a DVD last night with Alan Bean describing his painting of Pete Conrad with his wrist checklist opened to an attractive young lady. He commented that they both got a good laugh out of these photos and that he still had his and that he would pull it out from time to time to bring back memories. Some questions popped in my head and I was wondering if anyone had the answers.

Where is Pete Conrads checklist?
Who put these photos on their checklists?
Any specifics on these photos? Who are these ladies? Which magazine issue were they in? Any links? Did these ladies get any fame from this publicity? Did the magazine run a special issue ... "women of Apollo"? Was there ever any public outcry over this? Anybody ever get a copy of these signed by one of the astronauts?

These are some interesting questions. I wonder if Alan Bean has the answers we're looking for? I'm also wondering what the feedback from the wives was? I know mine frowns on " other women ", even in picture form.

Noah, I obtained a replica of the A12 wrist checklist from Global Effects.

They made the ones for the HBO 'From the Earth to the Moon'.

There were a number of minor flaws and when I sent it back to them, it took about 3 months to finally get it back and it looks truly authentic.

It came back to me with a copy of communications via Global from Dave Scott who put the books together for the A12 crew concerning the actual images used and the historical content.

It's very cool. It's got all the little Snoopy charactures and fun little notations.

I sent it to Kims place to have Bean sign it for me awhile back, he signed it 'Nice replica Rizz'. Kim said that they all had a good chuckle passing it around while Bean was there. I figured since I'll never get the original one (covered with moon dust), this makes a fun addition to my collection, and its fun to show peolpe.

Someone on another thread has one for sale and signed by Scott.

Thats all I know.

Have fun.

Rizz,

I have one of those A12 wrist cuff checklists. Can you tell me what the minor flaws were in the item?

Also I do not know who bought Conrad's checklist artifact. The collector who did buy it paid a pretty (over $1M) penny for it.

Mostly, there were a couple of dozen typo's throughout the checklist. The word 'hammer'for example and many other insignificant words.

Some pages were from Conrads list, which were evident by the fact that some of the page #'s didn't follow suit.

With the help of some of my research and corrections, and Scotts input, they finally got it right.

I will try to locate my notes, and I'd be happy to e-mail them to you.

If yours came from Global Effects within the last year and a half or so, it might be the corrected version.

I bought from the KSC space store about a year ago. I will give it a quick checkout.

The thing that was interesting about getting the checklist instead of six weeks it took about six months for it to be completed an sent to me.

They don't make it til you order it.

And judging by the delivery time, they probably don't make very many of them.

I think I'm correct in stating that there are cuff checklists display images on the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal site on NASA History web pages ?
