Does anyone know of a company what will cast your items in Acrylic?

Thanks!

I remember a long time ago my parents got me some kind of kit (probably pretty toxic!), that had some molds and chemicals to mix.
You put your stuff into the mold then pour the goop over the top of it and let it sit for about a day. Then you pull it out and there it is!

Seems like they should still sell something like that someplace in a craft store or someplace. I just haven't looked.

Yes, there are craft products, and they even sell them over here in the UK. But I found it requires a LOT of practise to get a successful casting. If you are attempting to set something that is plentiful and replaceable then I recommend diving straight in and having a bash, but if its something uniquely important then practise a lot before
taking the plunge.

The main difficulties I encountered are setting times, unless you get the mix of hardner to resin exact the setting time can go out to weeks! Next the 'mould' has to be scrupiously clean, and I mean CLEAN! ANY dust etc will show up in the final moulding. I was setting tiny items so if you are moulding something large then you can maybe get away with less cleanliness etc as any faults will be less aparent.

In the UK the stuff is sold under the trade name of 'Bonda Clear casting Resin' but doubtless there are many brands.

Good luck!

Joe
