When was the horizon scanner on the nose of the Gemini spacecraft jettisoned?

The cover was jettisoned after launch. I can't find any references or pictures of it after that, except after splashdown, and it isn't there in any pictures. Thanks.

Both scanner heads were jettisoned at the same time the retrograde module was jettisoned. This was accomplished when one of the crew pushed the JETT RETRO switch on the left side of Gemini's center display panel.

You are welcome.

As info, the only images I have seen of the horizon scanner heads were taken during the Gemini 7/6 mission. There might have been one taken during Gene Cernan's Gemini 9 EVA, but my memory is foggy on that one.

All times are CT (US)
