We already know that the Saturn V S-IVB's from Apollo 8 through 17 were either sent into heliocentric orbit or were sent crashing into the Moon.
But what became of the four spacecraft-LM adapter (SLA) panels that protected the lunar module? Were they always on a free return trajectory around the back side of the Moon to eventually burn up the Earth's atmosphere?

Does anyone here know if any of the SLA panels connecting the Apollo CSM to the S-IVB from any Apollo lunar mission impacted on the moon?
