How much clearance was there between the bottom of the CSM engine bell and the top of the LM ascent stage inside the Spacecraft Lunar Module Adapter (SLA)?

I don't know if you can get measurements from this source, but this document contains come of the most detailed drawings of the Command/Service module, LM adapter and Lunar Module that I have seen.

Command/service module systems handbook (CSM 104) - Detailed CSM / LM / LM Adapter drawings on PDF Pages 467 to 506

Thanks for linking the detailed CSM handbook drawings Rusty. It looks like the clearance was very very small - less than a foot perhaps.

All times are CT (US)
