What was the time an EVA was started? Did they go by when the lunar module was depressurized? When the hatch was opened? When they set foot upon the moon?

To me the most important thing would be when you go on suit O2. But I have to admit I don't know.

In fact, there are two modes for calculating EVA on the surface of the moon. When the cabin is depressurized lunar module to its repressurization (we apply the same method of calculation for a spacewalk). Or when the astronaut actually pose foot on the Moon, until it ends up on the ladder of the LM.

The Apollo 15 Mission Report states that EVA begins when the cabin pressure reaches 3 psia during depressurization, and EVA ends when the cabin pressure reaches 3 psia during repressurization.

Uh-oh? Apollo by the Numbers: Extravehicular Activity
From mission reports. Lunar surface EVAs are time outside LM. Others are based on start/stop times. Apollo 9 EVAs are from depressurization start to repressurization stop.

All times are CT (US)
