I was just watching this video of the in flight TV transmission immediately prior to the Apollo 13 explosion.
Interestingly, at around 22:00 into this video, they put the TV camera up to the Alignment Optical Telescope (AOT) and you can see the side of the CSM. I was wondering if this may have been used in flight to get a view of the damage?
Did they try to use it? Or was the damage of the other side of the SM and not visible?

When I look at my models, the telescope location above the hatch is on the opposite side of the CSM of the HGA, so I would guess they could not see any of the damage through it.

I half recall that somewhere - in Lost Moon? - there is mention of shooting stills and/or movies of the damage before separation. Anyone?
