Has anyone an explanation as to why some passages of mission transcripts are blanked out?
For example, in the Gemini VI Composite Air-to-Ground and Onboard Voice Tape Transcription on page 4 at 00:05:40; page 6 at 00:07:12; on page 14 at 01:15:50 and 01:16:17 there are transmissions that have been made illegible. There are others also. What is being hidden? I'm curious!

It seems to me after reading a bunch of it that the transcripts include the cabin comms (Schirra to Stafford and vice versa) not just the public comms. I suspect what's blanked out is probably "salty" and/or private language between the two on their private loop and NASA didn't want anyone to think its astronauts (even the Navy guys) might actually swear like sailors...and have it on the public record.

This sounds very plausible especially when one remembers the trouble caused by Charlie Duke's "Rats" on the Moon.
