From Florida Today... Forty years ago, thousands of Brevard County space workers launched men to the moon and brought them safely home.We encourage you to add your own photos and thoughts to the Web site, thus sharing your family's personal memory of this event with the world. To celebrate that event, Florida Today partnered with Footnote.com to create a web site where you can browse newly digitized photographs, documents and video from that era. |

An interesting and noble project by Florida Today. My only gripe is their photo gallery consisting primarily of NASA images. Florida Today has been around since Gemini 8 in 1966. Why not use some of the thousands of photos that the staff photographers have taken over the years. The files must be full of unique images. |

I highly recommend you check out "Moonstruck on the Space Coast", a 30 minute documentary at the Florida Today website. It is well done... especially where Guenter Wendt explains the trophy trout that Mike Collins gave him at launch. |

It took me a few minutes to find the correct page for the above-mentioned video, probably because I haven't had my coffee yet! Once I found the correct page, it was easy - the link is almost in the middle of the page.I really enjoyed looking through their Moon Landing Memories section and reading the stories (both from the archives and that people had posted). Thanks for pointing us toward another wonderful resource for enjoying the Apollo anniversary! |
