It did raise a question or two for me though. This question may have been answered in one image in the book, but I thought I would throw it out to the experts for confirmation.

Where was the second PLSS stored in the LM during flight?

I see one is stored on the side of the LM cockpit in the area above the Ascent Engine cover directly behind the Commander and just forward of the two OPSs.

The second one may have been stored on the floor between the standing astronauts. It would have been pushed up against the forward hatch under the instrument panel.

I was wondering if this is correct?

Secondly, I notice the helmets were either stored on top of the Ascent Engine cover or on the floor where the astros would stand during flight.

The book has left me with two impressions.

One, the LM is probably one of the most remarkable engineering accomplishments in history.

And two, it was very, very small!

This image shows the LM sim with Frank O'Brien. The PLSS is easily visible on the floor of the Sim.

I'm guessing that the CMP's umbilicals were just plugged into their existing umbilicals in the spacecraft with an extension hose of some kind. The existing ones came over the top of the console somewhere near the right hand side I think.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has more info. There's nothing of note in the Apollo 15 Flight Plan and would assume the full steps were on a cue card or something.
