The recovered hardware certainly seems to be parts of two panels welded together that made up the wall of the liquid hydrogen tank of an S-IVB stage. Thermal tiles were inserted into the metal matrix. See the attached photo that shows the parts in manufacturing at the Douglas plant in Santa Monica.
