I apologize if this has been posted already, but The Huntsville Times published an update on the Saturn V restoration project recently:
quote:
The Saturn V rocket at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center will begin its $1.5 million makeover next week. And the summer-long project will culminate with the giant space craft being "shrink-wrapped." ...
The team will scrub every inch of the Saturn V, including its 11 engines. They'll give it a fresh coat of paint.
When they're done, they'll "shrink wrap" the 363-foot-long spaceship in polyurethane to protect it from the elements until it can be moved to a climate-controlled building, Capps said.

Of particular interest, though, is a new Web page where you can watch the renovations, live. http://207.111.165.30/view/index.shtml

And, of course, you can donate to the project at: http://www.spacecamp.com/saturnv/
