I thought I'd seen everything when it came to fragments of flown items being sold but these were new to me...
The "tail" from the back of a flown Apollo 9 crew patch selling at $78 on eBay here.
The "tail" from the corner of a Gemini 4 flown flag sold a couple of days ago for $69 on eBay here.
Personally I see these as minimally destructive of the original flown items so I don't have any particular problem with the sales, but I do find it amazing that someone would actually buy the little bundle of threads that make up the tail of one of these items.

Little different than people buying fragments of data files or tires or tiles or thermal blankets or other space flown items. Not making a judgement call, mind you, just pointing this out.

I fail to see proof that the piece of either crew patch was flown in space. Where is the proof that the so called piece of crew patch actually came from the crew patch. All we have is proof that the patch was flown in space, not that the piece came from that patch. At least I would want to see a photo of the patch without the piece. Even then, yuk!!
