I have come across several copies of Spaceport news addressed to Dr. Kurt Debus from 1964. As I have never seen any of these surface before I was wondering if anyone else had any or if anyone had a sense of value.

I can picture him sitting at his desk reading these. A great piece of history and great articles from the early days of space flight.

I couldn't guess a price, but I'd be an enthusiastic bidder if they were in an auction. I too love the idea of the director of that Spaceport reading over its news.

These are on consignment and will be in the American Space Museum's March 2nd auction. I LOVE the things that come in for auction. Always some great items.

And most people will not believe what we have for our Apollo only auction in August. But some of these items are so rare these only one or two have ever sold.

Normally space center workers got their KSC Spaceport News issues with their mail codes and room numbers machine printed on each issue in red or black inks. I don't see any of Debus' mail code symbols, etc. on the above-depicted newspapers. Perhaps, though Chuck, several additional issues were routed to his office on the 4th floor of the KSC Headquarters Building for distribution to office visitors.

To be honest Ken I do not know how to read the numbers or code on these editions. But these where saved by Arnold Richman in a file marked Dr. Debus. as he has passed there is no way to ask how he acquired them.

All times are CT (US)
