In case anyone is interested in bidding on an Apollo 11 "crew signed" photo, now's your chance. The included COA even verifies that these are "Autographed In Person By: Neil Armstrong, Chris Collins & Buzz Aldrin Apollo XI."Yes, this is your chance to obtain a hand-signed autograph of elusive Apollo 11 astronaut Chris Collins! Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity! |

The COA is also supposedly #3652 produced by "Iconic Legends," a company that hides itself well online. At the bottom is supposedly their e-mail address, but it's written as "iconiclegends&comcast.net." C'mon man, it's not supposed to be an ampersand, it's a "commercial at!"Oh, and the signatures are really bad. |

I'm considering bidding, and if I win, I'll have Michael Collins added so that I have all four Apollo 11 astronauts on one item.In all seriousness, I looked through the seller's 100% positive feedback, and almost all the items don't link to the item sold. That's a bit telling in my book. Also, the item has 41 bids from 12 bidders, with more than two days remaining. I highly suspect that there's some shell bidding happening here. I really wish eBay would institute a mechanism to review and take action on reports of fraudulent items such as this. |

eBay: How can I report a listing that appears to be breaching eBay rules and policies? |

Thank you. I've used that reporting tool before, but never to any avail. I've heard the same from others too many times to think that eBay even pays reports of violations of their own policies any heed. The sad reality is that they make money off a sale, whether the item is legitimate or fraudulent. As of right now, there are 91 bids on that photo from 16 different bidders, with just under a day remaining. I'm really hoping those aren't real bidders, because that seems extremely implausible to me. |

Indeed, bad... worst is the Armstrong signature. |

Yeah, bad. Most of the Armstrong signatures that I've seen on the crew photos have Neil's signature placed on his right shoulder and certainly not across his face! (That should have been a clue right there to the bidders: who autographs across his/her face?!)Winning bidder was $1140... |

Sadly, it happens all the time. And not just on eBay. |

Even if someone is not a well-experienced autograph collector, the product write-up on eBay should give him/her great pause. Yet, people leap right in. Here's the seller's write-up... note all the loopholes and dodges he writes into it. From the seller on eBay: Bought this gorgeous 8x10 matted to 11x14 from a big sport collector who bought hundreds of items over years from many different places and events. Not sure where he got this one particularly. Please judge the signature for yourself. Comes with coa. Since I didn't get the signatures myself I can't guarantee it will pass other third party opinions. Selling with the opinion of the coa it comes with. This would make an amazing gift or addition to a collection. Would look amazing framed. |
