This Apollo 13 signed envelope is sold on Willhaben, what do you think about it?I recently rediscovered my interest in spaceflight. When I was 5 years old, my parents took me and my brother to a holiday to Florida. During these two weeks we also visited Cape Canaveral. Unfortunately I remember only small details about that trip. However, it took almost 30 years to bring that slumbering spark inside me to light. I always enjoyed watching the movie Apollo 13. I can watch it all day long. It took until this year that i ordered the book from Jim Lovell to read how it really was. And that is where it all started... Since then I told myself, I need to collect all I can get that has to do with Apollo. And that was the time I came along this website. And this website told me that Charlie Duke was visting Milan, Italy. And it was then when I decided to go to Milan and visit a moonwalker. So I went there with my brother and we got a photo and an autograph from Mr. Duke. Maybe I wanted to create a link for my children. So I can tell them, your father shook the hand of a guy who walked on the moon. And this is it. I am quite late. I followed the passing away of Gene Cernan, John Glenn and other heroes. I am glad to join this community. — David |

David, it is great that you traveled to Milan to meet Charlie Duke. Meeting an astronaut is a great experience. Meeting and shaking hands with a moonwalker is certainly something to brag about to your children. As you browse the forums here you will find many entertaining and educational subjects being discussed that will keep you interested and broaden your knowledge about all things "out of this world." It has certainly done so for me. Welcome to collectSPACE! | |
