I am just questioning the authenticity to this eBay listing. Looks horrible to me. The seller continues to argue its authenticity.

Thought I would get an opinion from cS. Is this an Armstrong signature for the hall of shame or does it have any potential for being authentic? Thanks to you all for your thoughts!

I'd give it the brush if I were you.

Not authentic. Not even close or debatable.

They may be NASA proxy signed rather than malicious forgeries.

Just curious Steve, what do you mean by NASA proxy signed? Looking to expand my knowledge. Thanks!

For a period in 1969 and 1970, some proxy signed Apollo 11 signatures were coming from NASA. I don't want to say "secretary" because it wasn't necessarily secretaries doing it. You can read more about it at my Neil Armstrong Autograph study.

Chris Spain's site also has some examples here.

The auction has since been removed, but if I recall correctly, the examples were consistent with the secretarial examples on Chris's site.

From the examples seen in my study and Chris's site, there is a stark difference making it clear more than one proxy was signing.
