I saw this coin on eBay for a low price and I was wondering if it has metal flown on STS-41D or contains metal from the launch complex? |

The medallion is made of metal blended with other materials used in Discovery's maiden launch. |

It contains expended metal used from one of the twin Tail Service Masts of a shuttle Mobile Launcher Platform for Discovery's maiden launch of Mission STS-41D in Aug. 1984.The Canaveral Port Authority produced this souvenir promotional medallion, along with others in a "first use" series that started with STS-1/Columbia/MLP-1 in 1981. If you need a full set of them, or individual issues, let me know. |

Ken, thanks for providing additional information and what is actually contained in the medallion! I've been trying to get the complete set, but unfortunately I'm missing the Endeavour Spacehab medallion. Is there any way to get that one along with what is contained in each medallion? Thanks! |
