I just found this online last night and I am really interested in buying this since I saw Discovery fly to the Smithsonian. Is there anyway I will know for sure if these flown patches and flags are authentic?

Yes, the items are authentic. They are offered by a former Dryden photographer who flew with the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft crew and who is a member of cS (X-Plane Fan).

You can see his original Buy, Sell, Trade listing here.

Thanks for the responses. I just bought the flown patch, but how did he manage to get on the SCA flights?

As mentioned, Tony was a Dryden photographer. He flew with the SCA crew to document the flights. See, for example, here.

Also, who made these patches and the individual transfer patches? I didn't see the individual ones on A-B Emblems.

Are the signatures authentic or are they pre-printed on each presentation (SCA flights)?

The signatures on the photo display are pre-prints; the crew chief's signature on the certificate of authenticity is original.

All times are CT (US)
