I wanted to get everyone's opinion on this item that I purchased from an individual on eBay. The guy worked for IBM and as an intern at NASA from January to May 1981. I've examined the item and I think it's made of aluminum, but can't be 100% positive. My thoughts are that it was made from aluminum and given out to highlight the shuttle program. Could be from scraps of metal used in the shuttle or items relating to it?

Separately and trying to tie a parallel deduction, I was given a submarine key fob made in the shape of a submarine for my visit of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The metal was from a submarine. Any help would be great! Thanks again!

Does anyone know of any person or resources that can identify those "unusual" items crafted by employees or the agency themselves? This would not only apply to this item, but others as well. Thanks.
