I'd be interested to hear what our learned members think about this.

Marsden is quite local to where I live and the idea of a member of the astronaut corps turning up for a game of bingo and a pea and pie supper seems pretty outlandish. Surely NASA had enough secretaries to deal with these sort of enquiries?

The signature appears to be authentic.

Armstrong did not authorize for his secretary to sign for him. If his correspondence wasn't authentically signed by him, then an autopen signature would be applied (and this is not an autopenned letter).
